In the permanent exhibition of the National Museum of Iceland, Nation will be created - Culture and society for 1200 years, there are seven main artefacts which have been equally important in Icelandic society both in their time and through the centuries.
They have their place at regular intervals according to the storyline of the exhibition showing the building development of the society since the beginning of the settlement up to the twentieth century.
All the artefacts are of Icelandic origin, but some of them are known in many countries.
They testify to their artistry and skill and have a strong national and social appeal in their own way.
These seven artefacts are exhibited at the National Museum of Iceland.
