On 11 September 1955 Sigríður Zoëga and Steinunn Thorsteinsson donated their entire collection of photographic plates to the National Museum of Iceland. The book includes the biographical profile of Sigríður, her work is discussed and there is a choice selection of her best photographs in the book.

The book was published in conjunction with an exhibition that was held at the Hafnarborg Centre for Culture and Fine Art in 2000, a collaboration project between the National Museum of Iceland and Hafnarborg Centre. English chapter in the back of the book.
