On the occasion of the photographic exhibition Endurkast / Reflection in 2008 an outstanding and in many respects unusual photography book was published which provides an insightful view of the exhibition and the subjects that modern photography deals with. The book is intended to cast a light on the situation of photography within Icelandic visual arts, and to study the subjects and the approach by photographers who have worked with photography as an artistic medium. The exhibit showed photographs by eight Icelandic photographers who formed the Society of Icelandic Contemporary Photographers.
The eight photographers are: Katrín Elvarsdóttir, Pétur Thomsen, Ívar Brynjólfsson, Bára Kristinsdóttir, Einar Falur Ingólfsson, Bragi Þór Jósefsson, Spessi and Þórdís Ágústsdóttir. The text writers for the book are: Sigrún Sigurðardóttir and Hjálmar Sveinsson. The book is in Icelandic and English.
