Laid-and-couched embroidery kit - Cross from Svalbard altar frontal perfect to frame size 14-16 cm. This kind of embroidery is known in Icelandic as refilsaumur or refill-stitch. The term derives from the word refill for long horizontal wall-hangings that hung on the interior walls of homes and churches in the Middle Ages.
This is laid and crouched embroidery of a cross from an altar frontal from Svalbarði á Svalbarðsströnd.
