The exhibition “Iceland in the world, the world in Iceland” dealt with transport to and from Iceland and highlights images of Iceland's diverse relationship with the outside world. In this interesting publication, the research behind the exhibition is presented in more details. People from different directions, Danes, Germans and Poles have moved to the country for a variety of reasons. Refugees here seek refuge from conflict and danger, but Icelanders have also settled in other countries, such as Brazil and Norway.
The book draws us to a reflection on how Iceland's past and present are shaped by both ideas and people in travel and flight, but also how our attitudes toward others can be shaped by old ideas. Summary in English
