It's fun to read runes, these magnetic runes connect the modern alphabet to the runes. Now you can write your name in rune letters.
Runes belong to an alphabet called fúþark that was used by the Vikings. The fúþark has its origins in one of the alphabets that were common in the countries around the Mediterranean centuries before the birth of Christ and from there to Northern Europe with the Germans.
The original fúþark, which can be seen in Viking relics from the 4th century, contained 24 runes. Towards the end of the 8th century, i.e. beginning of the Viking Age, the runes had decreased to 16.
