Valþjófsstaðarnæla - upper circle
A brooch made after the upper circle of a church door from Valþjófsstaður, from around 1200.
The design is of a knight slaying a dragon and rescuing a lion from its claws. The lion then follows the knight and finally lays mournfully on his way.
