This book presents a selection of Björn's photographs that are preserved in the National Gallery of Iceland in the National Museum, but also in the Icelandic Institute of Natural History and in the Norðfjörður National Gallery and Archives.
Björn Björnsson (1889-1977) was an amateur photographer who worked on photography from the second decade of the last century until the eighth century. Björn was a great nature lover and is considered a pioneer in bird photography in Iceland's nature. Björn had a keen eye for mixing nature and man-made things together. The pictures reflect Björn's romantic approach to the subject, which takes into account his prevailing vision of a generation on the land and its beauty.
