Soft cover book, The Enigma of the Lewis Chessmen - The Icelandic Theory. Discusses the ancient historical chess players and their possible Icelandic origins. The book is by the engineer Gu\u00f0mundur G. \u00de\u00f3rarinsson.<\/p>\n

Gu\u00f0mundur's hypothesis that these ancient chess players are probably of Icelandic origin, and not Norwegian as has been claimed, has grown support, but it is worth bearing in mind that Gu\u00f0mundur's idea is only a hypothesis - not supported by strong arguments.<\/p>\n
