{"id":1690,"date":"2021-05-17T14:55:28","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T14:55:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thjodminjasafn.is\/?post_type=product&#038;p=1690"},"modified":"2024-12-01T11:19:26","modified_gmt":"2024-12-01T11:19:26","slug":"thjodin-landid-og-lydveldid","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/netverslun.thjodminjasafn.is\/en\/verslun\/lestur\/ljosmyndabaekur\/thjodin-landid-og-lydveldid\/","title":{"rendered":"The Nation, the Country and the Republic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"translation-block\">Incident to an extensive exhibition of the work of Vigf\u00fas Sigurgeirsson, photographer and filmmaker, that was held in the National Museum of Iceland in 2008, the museum published the book The Nation, the Country and the Republic \u2013 Vigf\u00fas Sigurgeirsson, photographer and filmmaker.\nVigf\u00fas was one of the foremost photographers in Iceland during the middle of the 20 th century and a pioneer in Icelandic filmmaking, his contribution to the cultural history of Iceland was therefore great.<\/p>\n<p>The book includes five articles by various specialists:<br \/>\nA humble photographer in majestic natural surroundings by Linda \u00c1sgeirsd\u00f3ttir, curator at Lj\u00f3smyndasafn \u00cdslands.<\/p>\n<p>Icelanders in the future world by \u00cdris Ellenberger, historian.<\/p>\n<p>Vigf\u00fas Sigurgeirsson\u2019s photographic exhibition: Iceland -
